Today was quite a day. I went to bed sick last night and woke up feeling, well, still sick. We are making Thanksgiving preparations, so the kids went outside to clean and weed. We are still finding sharp objects of all kinds in the yard. Metal, glass, plastic, it doesn't matter what it;s made of, it all hurts going in and is painful coming out. We try to make sure they wear shoes all the time, which is akward for a cracker like me. Anyway, Pauly was the unlucky one today. A good chunk of glass, which probably hurt more coming out, got lodged in the ball of his foot. It took a half an hour to get it out. (I was surprised no one called the police, he screamed so loud). An hour later and you would never know it happened. He was running around (shoes on this time) screaming (we have very tolerant nieghbors) and having an all around good time. Kids get over things so quickly. I probably would have been limping for the rest of the day.

Things quieted down for a little while after that. TThen Anya decided she needed to leash train Moxie (one of the cats). The dogs saw thier chance and five minutes later, Anya, Moxie and Fritz (Dad's dog) were quite traumatized. And I now have claw marks all down one of my calves. Hard to say who took it worse, Anya or Moxie.

Again, things calmed down, I got Anya to stop crying. Moxie was fine and Fritz had forgotten the whole thing. Who's left? Ah, yes. Bridgett! Who had the nerve to tell Pauly that her marshmallow roasting stick was better than his and consequently was popped in the mouth because Pauly disagreed. Luckily, the tooth he loosened was already on its' way out. And this was mostly my day today. I could add the conversation with the Witnesses and the after lunch fortune cookies but i think i've told you enoough about my wonderful day. That's not sarcasm either. With all the crisis' we went thru today, It was still an awesome day. I spent it with people who love me and no matter the mistakes we make, we are still family.

Oh! I'll have to post a pic of Anya in her new glasses when they finally come in. Turns out, she's near-sighted.

  1. Marshmallows and "crackers" all in the same post!

I can just picture the moment...Pauly looking at his lesser marshmallow stick...realizing it's inferiority...and then clicking in his brain, "hmmm, I should whack her upside the head with it!"

Glad you have your family, always, through thick and thin!

    Love you sis!
Great post, love hearing from you!!!
